Red Rook Press is The University of Alabama’s student-run publishing house. I serve on the acquisitions team and am training as a poetry editor.
Acquisitions
- Read prose and poetry manuscripts submitted by graduate and undergraduate students from universities around the world.
- Meet with fellow acquisitions members to discuss each manuscript and decide its publishing status.
Poetry Editing
- Learning how to edit poetry manuscripts ranging from 70 to 100 pages.
- Discovering how to partner with a diverse group of authors on their manuscripts.
